WHO IS OHM?😕 


   GEORGE OHM WAS AN GERMAN  PHYSICISTS  AND MATHEMATICIAN WHO WAS TRYING FIND RELATION BETWEEN CURRENT, VOLTAGE, AND RESISTANCE. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT  BASIC LAW OF PHYSICS WHICH IS GIVEN BY
GEORGE S. OHM,
 THAT'S WHY ITS CALLED OHMS LAW.

WHAT IS CURRENT, VOLTAGE AND RESISTANCE? AND WHY RELATION BETWEEN THEM IS IMPORTANT?

TO UNDERSTAND THE OHMS LAW, WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT CONCEPT OF CURRENT, VOLTAGES AND RESISTANCE.

SO,

 WHAT IS CURRENT:-(



 CURRENT IS DEFINED AS FLOW OF ELECTRIC CHARGE PER UNIT TIME THROUGH AN ELECTRIC CONDUCTOR  IS CALLED CURRENT.
           CURRENT IS MEASURED IN AMPERE (A).


WHAT IS VOLTAGE:-



 IT IS ALSO CALLED ELECTRIC POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE, IS DEFINED AS THE WORK NEEDED PER UNIT CHARGE TO MOVE A TEST CHARGE BETWEEN THE TWO-POINT IN STATIC ELECTRIC FIELD.
                   VOLTAGE IS MEASURED IN VOLT(V).

WHAT IS RESISTANCE:-


CAPACITY OF CONDUCTOR TO OPPOSE THE FLOW OF CHARGE IS CALLED RESISTANCE OF AN CONDUCTOR.
    RESISTANCE IS MEASURED IN OHM(Ω)

WHAT IS RELATION BETWEEN CURRENT, VOLTAGE, RESISTANCE? 

OHMS LAW:- 


OHMS LAW IS SHOW THE RELATION BETWEEN CURRENT, VOLTAGE, AND RESISTANCE.

OHMS LAW  IS DEFINED AS THE POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OR VOLTAGE OF A CONDUCTOR IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE CURRENT FLOWING THROUGH THE CONDUCTOR.
        MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION OF  OHMS LAW,
                                                   V∝I 
                                            or   V₌RI (R is the resistance offered by conductor)
                                             or    V/I=R
WE CAN SAY THAT, ACC. TO OHMS LAW

                                       VOLTAGE=CURRENT × RESISTANCE

ONE UNIT RESISTANCE:- UNIT RESISTANCE IS DEFINED AS WHEN 1 VOLT POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE IS APPLIED TO A CIRCUIT AND 1 AMPERE CURRENT IIS PASSING THROUGH THE CONDUCTOR.

                                        UNIT RESISTANCE,  1Ω=1Vx1A


                 SOME NUMERICAL EXAMPLE OF OHMS LAW

                                                    SIMPLE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT

Q.1        IN A CIRCUIT, IF POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE IS  5V, CURRENT FLOWING THROUGH CONDUCTOR IS 10A THEN CALCULATE THE RESISTANCE IN CIRCUIT.


SOLUTION: GIVEN THAT,
                                  POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OR VOLTAGE =5V
                                                                                         CURRENT=10A
                                                                                    RESISTANCE=?
              WE KNOW THAT ACC. TO OHMS LAW 
                                                            
                                                                     VOLTAGE=CURRENT × RESISTANCE
                                                  
                                                                      R=V/A
                                                                      R=5/10=0.5Ω
                                      SO OUR RESISTANCE OF CIRCUIT IS 0.5Ω

Q.2        IN A CIRCUIT, IF RESISTANCE  IS 4Ω, CURRENT FLOWING THROUGH CONDUCTOR IS 10A THEN CALCULATE THE VOLTAGE  OF CIRCUIT.


SOLUTION: GIVEN THAT,
                                  POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OR VOLTAGE =?
                                                                                         CURRENT=10A
                                                                                    RESISTANCE=4Ω
                                            ACC. TO OHMS LAW 
                                                            
                                                                     VOLTAGE=CURRENT × RESISTANCE
                                                  
                                                                        V=IR
                                                                     V=10×4=40V
                                      SO OUR VOLTAGE OF CIRCUIT IS 40V


Q.3       IN A CIRCUIT, IF RESISTANCE  IS 15Ω,  POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OR VOLTAGE  IS  0.4V THEN CALCULATE THE CURRENT FLOWING THROUGH THE CIRCUIT.



SOLUTION: GIVEN THAT,
                                  POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OR VOLTAGE =0.4V
                                                                                         CURRENT=?
                                                                                    RESISTANCE=15Ω
                                            ACC. TO OHMS LAW 
                                                            
                                                                     VOLTAGE=CURRENT × RESISTANCE
                                                  
                                                                        V/R=I
                                                                     I=15×0.4=6.0A
                                      SO OUR CURRENT OF CIRCUIT IS 6.0A
